Day to day description

Arrival Arrival

Today you arrive directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport (time and flight to be confirmed) and will be transferred to your pre-safari lodge in Arusha.

Day 1 Arusha Town – Tarangire National Park – Karatu

After breakfast at your hotel, depart from Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive. Tarangire is particularly known for its large elephant herds, spectacular baobab trees, and diverse wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing with the afternoon game drive. You may see elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, impala, lions and many species of birds.In the late afternoon, exit Tarangire and drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 Karatu – Lake Eyasi – Hadzabe & Datoga Experience – Karatu

After an early breakfast, depart for Lake Eyasi to experience the traditional lifestyle and culture of the Hadzabe people. You will have an opportunity to visit a Hadzabe community and learn about their traditional way of life, hunting and gathering practices, local traditions and relationship with the surrounding environment. Depending on local arrangements, you may also visit the Datoga community and learn about their traditional skills and culture. After the cultural experience, enjoy lunch and return to Karatu in the late afternoon.

Day 3 Karatu – Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Crater and descend into the crater for a game drive.The crater is one of Tanzania's most famous wildlife areas and is particularly renowned for its high concentration of wildlife. Spend several hours exploring the crater floor, looking for lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas and, with luck, the endangered black rhino.Enjoy a picnic lunch before ascending from the crater and continuing toward Serengeti National Park.Enter the Serengeti and continue with a game drive en route to your camp/lodge. Arrive in the evening, check in, have dinner and relax.

Day 4 Serengeti National Park - Full day Game Drive

Wake up early for breakfast before heading out for a full-day game drive in the Serengeti. This is your main day dedicated to exploring the Serengeti. Depending on the season and location of wildlife, your guide will select the best areas for game viewing .Possible sightings include: Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, Elephants, Zebras, Buffalo, Giraffes, Hippos, Wildebeest, Hyenas. Have a picnic lunch in the park and continue your game drive into the afternoon. Return to your accommodation in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 Morning Serengeti Game Drive – Exit Serengeti - Departure

Wake up early for your final morning game drive in the Serengeti.The early morning is a particularly good time for wildlife viewing because predators are often active and the temperatures are cooler. After the game drive, return for breakfast, check out and begin your journey out of the Serengeti. Continue with a game drive en route to the park exit, giving you one last opportunity to see wildlife before leaving the Serengeti. Drive back to Arusha and transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for departure.

Approximate driving time: 8 hours from Serengeti National Park to Kilimajaro International Airport
