Explore the breathtaking highlands of Ngorongoro on foot, accompanied by a Maasai guide and armed ranger. Walk along the crater rim or through Empakai Crater while enjoying panoramic views and encounters with wildlife such as buffaloes and antelopes. This walking safari combines dramatic landscapes with cultural insights from the Maasai community.

Day 1 From Karatu to Ngorongoro Highlands

  • 07:00 AM – Depart from lodge
  • 09:00 AM – Arrival at Ngorongoro highlands
  • 09:30 AM – 12:30 PM – Walking safari along crater rim or Empakai Crater; view                              buffalo, antelopes, and other wildlife
  • 12:30 PM – 01:30 PM – Picnic lunch with panoramic scenery
  • 01:30 PM – 03:30 PM – Explore highlands on foot with Maasai guide; learn about                         local culture
  • 04:00 PM – Return to Karatu
